Please plan to join us Sunday, November 1, 2026, for a racial history tour of Calvary Cemetery. We will visit the burial sites of figures notable for their roles in the racial history of the St. Louis Archdiocese, the Jesuit order, and our civil society.
The tour will be conducted by Dr. Kelly Schmidt (Reparative Public Historian and Lecturer, Washington University) and Fr. Jeff Harrison, S.J. Leading us through the burial sites, our guides will share stories from the experience of these ancestors and the connection to our lives today.
Please arrive by 12:45 pm and park inside the front entrance near the cemetery office. We encourage people to take this time to consolidate into a carpool caravan. The tour will begin promptly at 1:00 pm and conclude at approximately 3:30 pm. Standing and some walking over the cemetery's grassy slopes should be expected.
This program is sponsored by the History Committee of the College Church Antiracism Commission and the STL Catholic Worker Community. All are invited to gather at the end of the tour at the STL Catholic Worker Community house, located near the cemetery at 8617 Mora Ln. for soup and post-tour discussion.
