Postponed! Happy Birthday Theo!" Pizza Party Fundraiser!

Because of forecasted snow, we’re going to gather February 1st!

Our communal meal on Sunday, January 25th will be a pizza party fundraiser to celebrate Theo’s 36 years of life and 16 years with the Catholic Worker!

Instead of our normal monthly potluck, we’ll be getting together starting at 5 PM at our community house, 8617 Mora Lane, for pizza, beer, sparkling water, and (as is the tradition for this annual event) Jarritos. We’re asking for a $15 suggested donation, but we're operating on the honor system and no one is ever turned away because they can’t pay. Help us guess how many pizzas to order by letting us know if you’re coming via email to StLouisCatholicWorker@gmail.com, but show up anyway if you forgot to rsvp!

Can't make the party? You can still support by sending a check to:

The Serviceberry - Clarification of Thought Book Club Thursday June 12th, 6 PM Read the book or just show up to hear the conversation. This month’s clarification of thought topic will center on Braiding Sweetgrass author Robin Wall Kimmerer’s The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World. From the cover: The serviceberry’s relationship with the natural world is an embodiment of reciprocity, interconnectedness, and gratitude. The tree distributes its wealth—its abundance of sweet, juicy berries—to meet the needs of its natural community. And this distribution ensures its own survival. As Kimmerer explains, ‘Serviceberries show us another model, one based upon reciprocity, w...

May 25th Potluck at Tower Grove Park!

The last Sunday of the month usually means StL CW potluck! May is one of the nice times of year to be outdoors in Missouri so we thought we’d gather at Tower Grove Park for this month’s shared meal.  Chrissy is providing the soccer ball! But you can bring a lawn chair or blanket along with your normal dish to share. (Or just come as you are!) We aren’t officially renting a pavilion or picnic site. Instead we're just going to grab a spot and set up some tables somewhere near the Kingshighway entrance to the park. We'll be somewhere west of the New Comfort Station ( here on Google Maps ). You should see us with a couple tables and chairs set up; we'll probably be somewhere in this orange square   Right now the weather can’t fully decide if we’ll be dry Sunday or not. No worries though! Our friend Olivia has offered her nearby apartment in the event of rain! If you think we might not be at the park because of the weather or if you just can’t locate us in the park, text or call...
